Political Idiocy

The prime minister, a certain Mr David Cameron, is an idiot. And should resign. With immediate effect. Why you ask? I could offer you any numbers of reasons. But I saw this story today (click for the BBC link) and I thought that’s it. The final straw. The camel’s back is now officially broken.

David Cameron referred to the constant heckling he receives from shadow chancellor Ed Balls (insert your own jokes here) as and I quote ““like having someone with Tourette’s sitting opposite you”.

This I find deeply offensive. He is quite clearly a man who is not aware of what a nightmare living with Tourette’s can be. He has crossed a boundary line now by trivialising a very real and often very serious medical condition can be. Mr Cameron dismissed the comment as being made off of the cuff and that he is sorry if he caused any offense. Well damn it he did.

And while we’re looking at politics and for the sake of party neutrality Labour’s Diane Abbott needs to resign too. Her comments on Twitter last week, “White people love playing “divide & rule” We should not play their game #tacticasoldascolonialism”, were totally out of order for a Politician.

Now I’m not one of those who think we need to live in a totally Political Correct world. But I do expect Politicians to show some sensitivity and restraint. Perhaps I’m an idealist here for expecting so much from those we elect to rule over us. Next election however I may be swayed from bts’s nuetrality (we hate them all equally) by running our full site support behind this little lot: The Church of the Militant Elvis aka The Bus Pass Elvis party aka the Militant Elvis Anti-Tesco Popular Front.

I’ll leave you with little snippet from the AV referendrum, as to my mind it’s the greatest arugment for a total shake up of our voting system ever made.
